Moodyfest XIII       NICE TO BE HERE

Come one. Come all.

Join us this fall.

We promise you will have a ball.

It is that time of year when Joan and Lori invite you, and any of your friends, to participate in the fundraiser known as Moody Fest.  This is our 13th year of holding Moody Fest.  With the money we raise this year, we hope to pass a special mark.

MOODYFEST CHARITABLE DONATIONS
Moody Fest has raised over $27,000 so far. We need your help to make it past $30,000. All proceeds from the Fest have gone to The Dr. Ray Powles Leukemia Research Fund.  It is the people who attend Moody Fest and participate in the mail-in raffles that have made it possible for the success we have had.  Come be a part of that success.

We raise money at Moody Fest by raffling Moody Blues memorabilia. Almost all the items are autographed.  We even have many unusual items of interest. Anyone who has been to Moody Fest, can tell you the trip is worth it.  Check out the Moodyfest 2001 page for photos of memorabilia won that year and experience the Moodyfest atmosphere.

We are offering an incentive this year in hopes of getting more people to attend.  Normally we always give $10 worth of raffle tickets at the door for each person who attends.  This year we will add and extra $10 to anyone who brings a new guest.  Be sure to mention to Lori who you are bringing to get credit.

WHEN:
Moody Fest XIII will be held on November 1, 2003 at 12pm to early evening,

WHERE:
Shadowbrook on Chelsea Road, Chelsea NY. Chelsea is located on the banks of the Hudson River about 70 miles north of New York City, 70 miles from New Haven, CT, 95 miles south of Albany or west from Hartford, and 160 miles from Philly.   For a map of the Chelsea area, pull up this map on Mapquest, and center and size it to your liking.

By car, you can come via I84 from the east or west (exit at Beacon immediately east of the Hudson River).  The NY Thruway (I87) crosses I84 west of the Hudson river.   Also, I684 comes up from Westchester to meet I84 east of Beacon.  At the Beacon exit of I84, head north on 9D (not 9) for a mile or 2 to Chelsea Rd.  Go left on Chelsea road, down the hill towards the river for a mile or so; you'll see Moodyfest signs for Shadowbrook on the right side of the road.

There are Metro-North commuter train stations nearby (New Hamburg and Beacon) (click http://as0.mta.info/mnr/schedules/sched_form.cfm for schedules from Grand Central or another station) and we would be happy to meet anyone who needed a ride from there.  And Amtrak serves nearby Poughkeepsie (http://www.amtrak.com).  If you need a ride from a train station, please contact Lori well in advance:
Lspen98@yahoo.com

COST:
Tickets to attend the Fest are $45 per person. You will receive $10 worth of raffle tickets at the door in any denomination you want. You will also receive a commemorative button.  Ticket price includes a buffet dinner, snacks throughout the afternoon, and beverages.  It's helpful to reserve your spot well in advance as you can.

MOODYFEST BAND:
Once again, The MoodyFest Cover Band will be on hand to perform for us. They have been practicing very hard this summer to give us their best.  They will also let anyone check out their instruments during breaks if you are interested.

GAMES:
There will be a trivia game with a wonderful prize for the winner.

There will be door prizes as well.

Items for raffling will include an autographed tambourine, drum head, pictures, caligraphies, t-shirts, mugs, dvd's, cds, clocks, mousepads, and so much more.

VENDORS:
Maggie Clarke will have her concert photos for sale.
